Membership Application Forms are sent to members in March of each year by email (as a link to the online form) or by post.

MEMBERSHIP CLASSES  
 
FAMILY        
Available to amember and a named adult partner at the same address and includes children under 18 at the date of application.  
 
SINGLE  
This applies to persons aged 18 or over  
 
STUDENT  
Persons aged between 18 and 23 who are in full time education.

Membership fees are payable for each Calendar year and become due for payment by the 1st April of each year and run until 31st of March of the following year. The only variation from this is detailed  below (see section on new members) 

Policy on Membership 

Membership payments are for a Calendar Year from 1st April and renewal payments should be made by 1st April.  If no payment has been received by that date, your membership will cease and your boat must be removed from the compound by two weeks after 1st April.  You will receive a message to warn you of this happening. 

There is a late payment / re-joining fee, of £40 on top of the normal fees if you wish to renew your membership at this stage. 

Family Membership is £90  for the year – April 1st – March 31st 
Single Membership is £80 for the year – April 1st – March 31st  
Student / Junior Membership is £70 for the year – April 1st – March 31st 
Boat storage is £65 for the year or any part of the year – April 1st – March 31st  

School Group Membership is £130 of the year 
Sailability is £130 for the year 

Boat storage for School Groups and Sailability are £30 per berth and £10 per boat for the year. 

For new members joining the Club before Open Day, the full membership fees and boat storage fees will apply and their membership will then last until 31st March of the following year. 

For new members joining the Club after 31st November, membership fees will be halved and their membership will then last until 31st March of the following year. 

We have the occasional offers on membership at Open Day and for people who have completed RYA Level 1 & 2 courses 

After the first year of membership renewal fees will be at full cost, payable by the end of March for the calendar year. 

INSURANCE & SAFETY RULES 
All Boat owning members MUST be covered by CURRENT MARINE third party Liability insurance of at least £2,000,000 to indemnify themselves against any claims which may arise in the course of their sailing activities.  
All members are required to abide by the RULES of the club and the Priorslee Lake Water Sports Association Ltd., and agree to adhere to the Telford Sailing Club Safety Policy and Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy available at https://telfordsailingclub.co.uk/policy-documents 
 
SAFETY BOAT POLICY 

  1. For training sessions the RYA ratios for trainees to numbers of safety boats will always be adhered to. 
  1. For racing, the safety boat(s) will be launched.  
  1. For pleasure sailing, the safety boat must be launched if the conditions will be challenging for the sailors involved – decision to launch / not launch will be made by Commodore / Training Principal / Senior Instructor. 
  1. If the safety boat is not launched, there must be a minimum of two boats sailing, so that buddy sailing can ensure any emergency can be dealt with safely. 
  1. If the safety boat is not launched TSC members must make their own decision on whether to sail or not.  They must take into account their level of competence, training, experience, their sailing clothing and the weather conditions, when making that decision.  Other experienced TSC members could be consulted to help with any decision to sail.  If in doubt – do not sail
  1. Parents / family members are responsible for deciding whether their children are safe to sail, and should consider their competence, level of training, experience, sailing clothing, weather conditions  and safety boat cover before allowing them to sail. 

T.S.C. STICKERS 
All members MUST display the T.S.C. stickers on their boats / boards.  
 
KEYS  
A key is required to gain entry, these must be obtained from the Membership Secretary at a cost of £32  when applying for Membership.  
Keys remain the property of T.S.C. It is strictly prohibited to lend keys to non- members.  
IF AND WHEN YOU CEASE TO BE A MEMBER IT MUST BE RETURNED WHEN THE FEE  
WILL BE REIMBURSED ON RECEIPT OF KEY BY MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY. THE GATE  
MUST BE CLOSED AND LOCKED AFTER ENTRY AND DEPARTURE AT ALL TIMES. 
   
DUTIES  
All members may be required to carry out duties for the club during the year.  These consist of helping with the organization and running of races.  If you are not familiar with racing procedures we will give you a briefing on the simple procedures 
   
NOTES.  
Members selling their craft must inform the Membership Sec: to enable records to be kept up to date and if purchasing another, keep in mind the Club Preferred Classes ie:  
Mirror, Miracle, Solo, Topper Laser Enterprise, GPI4,  
Others will be at the discretion of the committee. Maximum boat length is l4ft. Canoes are not allowed.  
Newly acquired boats must be registered with the club before sailing on the lake or storing in the compound, and relevant details of Sail No. and insurance sent to the Membership Sec.:  
ONLY BOATS I BOARDS REGISTERED WITH THE CLUB ARE ALLOWED ON THE LAKE.  
Visitors are not allowed to bring their own craft.  
 
Please inform the Membership Secretary of any change of address to help keep records up to date. A Members and Visitors Book is in the clubhouse which we ask all our members to fill in to enable us to monitor the usage of the lake especially on weekdays. All visitors must be signed in before Sailing. Application to the committee for boats which are not Club Preferred must be submitted to Membership Secretary for acceptance or refusal by the Committee. 

BOAT COMPOUND 
Application to Membership Secretary for a berth is required. The compound fee is £65 per year, or any part of the year, per berth.
